    Sleep, sleep, sleep

    A caregiver's dream, dream, dream

I cannot tell a lie. This is how I slept the first night Martin was in the nursing home. Snoring and drooling probably were involved, too.
I hadn't totally abandoned my caregiving duties as my phone slept on Martin's side of the bed in case of a middle-of-the-night call. (Those would come later.) But I slept, truly slept, for the first time in months, knowing that someone else was making sure that Martin made it through the night safely.
At some point we got it into our heads as a society that caregivers aren't supposed to complain. I'm here to say you can. It doesn't mean you are uncaring or love them any less. It simply means you are human.
