    Would you like some water?

    would-you-like-some-water image

    Why, yes, you would!

Do a search on "caregivers" and "dehydration" and you'll get about 877,000 results, usually on why it's important for caregivers to keep their charges hydrated.
    But what about you?
Dehydration and the need to take in water is generally thought of as a hit-weather/summer thang, but winter, spring, summer and fall, we need to stay hydrated and water is a great place to start.
When I was caregiving, I made sure Martin got water in him. Sometimes I added fruit, powdered drink mix, whatever it took to get it down.
Don't make me brag, but Martin's kidneys could have made the centerfold of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
I, on the other hand, was badbadBAD about my water intake. With everything else going on, who remembers to drink water? I have a husband who is taking food to the pioneer family that he insists is living in our guest bedroom and now I'm supposed to stop and grab a glass of cool, refreshing water?
I'm here to tell you: grab it, people!
You'll move better, you'll feel better, you'll pee better, all because of a few glasses of water.
